My dad repeats something his professor told him the day he graduated. You only retain 10% of what you learned in school. (And then he goes on and on about how he cried because that meant studying so hard was for nothing…) Now, my dad isn’t the most reliable source. He kind of interprets things to his liking and warps things. My mom likes to tell us that he’s the type of person that will try to shove a square peg in a circular hole…

Anyway, regardless of what my parents say, I like to think that out of everything that I do, I learn something. (Or at least I think I hope I learned something…)

Now I totally lost my train of thought. Hopefully this will come back to me later. Yes, how anti-climatic. lol

So now that I’m done my co-op placement, I’ve been rather bored. It hasn’t hit me yet, but waking up early is still part of circadian rhythm. We’ll see what happens.

I’m excited for school next week. How weird. Lol.

My one and only final of the semester is on the last day of exams. Go figure, right?

Anyway, I can’t seem to cram anymore knowledge into my head. I doubt that even if I try, it won’t stick. Instead I’m just looking at the pictures. Pictures would be easier to remember and they tell a thousand words. So… this is what I have succumbed to. Hahaha.

I’ve been thinking recently on the power of silence.

I’m a quiet guy to begin with. I really only talk lots when I really know you well, otherwise, I’m just the guy that likes to listen. Maybe I’m just not the daredevil and ready to jump into the conversation. I like to watch from afar and observe and then when I figure how the others communicate, I adapt to them and join in.

Random thought: My grade 1 teacher thought I was an ESL student because I didn’t talk. I was born and raised here in Vancouver and I’m definitely not ESL. My teacher found out that I wasn’t when my mom came in for a student-teacher interview and my teacher was shocked that my mom spoke perfect English. I think I was asked why I didn’t talk in class and I answered something like, I didn’t have to talk.

I guess I’ve always been the listener/observer, but I guess that’s my superpower.

At work, I just have to give people the “look of disapproval” and people get what I mean. I don’t need words to tell them to stop doing what they’re doing. I guess I learned from my mom on how this look works since she used it on my sisters and I a lot.

I have no idea where I am going with this. I’m just a random quiet guy. Total introvert right here!

My sister got this deal for a free pair of glasses if I ordered online, and I was all over it. It essentially cost me just under $16 for shipping. I feel a bit honger…

I had to cancel my credit card the other day.

I noticed 3 transactions from the same day that were at 2 different locations of a gas station that I don’t gas with. I’m so happy that I’m a little paranoid and like to check my statements to make sure the purchases on there are purchases I actually made!

I called up my credit card company and told them that I didn’t gas with them. Then the CSR basically went over a week’s worth of transactions in which I told him I either made those purchases or not. Seems like this person likes to spend money at gas stations and parking stubs.

Anyway, the world is a very fishy place… Still rather confused on where my number got stolen though… Must retrace my transactions. :S

To get all procrastination out of the way, I will be posting a blog now.

Yesterday, I went over to Adie’s for a BBQ. There was so much food! Nom nom nom. Chatted with past AIESECers, while eating on what turned out to be a sunny day near the end. Took a cloning photo, but mine didn’t turn out so well.

Anyway, I’m up at school to do my assignment and AIESEC work. I just got an email saying my assignment was postponed. YIPPEE! But I shall start it now! :D
